Just because I’ve had the damn thing stuck in my head for two straight weeks…

Wonder pets, wonder pets we’re on our way
To help a baby elephant and save the day
We’re not too big and we’re not too tough
But when we work together, we’ve got the right stuff!

Almost makes you long for the days you just got Britney Spears lyrics stuck in your head, doesn’t it.

Fuck. It takes me DAYS to get that crap out of my head after hearing it for even a SECOND.Thanks.

It could be worse. You might be stuck on one of those adorable Wee Sing ditties sung by The Stepford Children, or the Barney theme song, sung by — guess who? — The Stepford Children.

Oh man, that song is SO terrible and so catchy. It’s right up there with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the Wiggles.

One of my absolute favourite things to do is call my husband and hummm the first few bars of an annoying song… It gets lodged into his brainand then he starts to innocently hum the tune much to his chagrin… then he starts tosing it … and then another member of the office starts to whistle it…and by the end of the day…. someone wants to kill my husband… for lodging the song into the ENTIRE office’s system…It’s a hobby!!!! A wicked, twisted, hobby of mine…

Whenever someone calls our house, we all burst into chorus:The phone. The phone is RING-ing. The phone! We’ll be right there! It’s see-wee-us.

What’s gonna work? Team work!It could be worse. You could have “We all know where the rainbow goes..” stuck in your head.

Wonder pets are definitely annoying, but I think “your back yard friends, the Backyardigans” are much more crazy-making. Their music could be used to get Guantanamo Bay prisoners to fess up, if it weren’t for the Geneva Convention. (Oh, wait, we don’t care about the Geneva Convention. . .)

When we moved, one of the mover’s phone rang. Another one of big burly men called out: “The phone, the PHONE is RINGING!” And he was answered back by a third: “The PHONE, we’ll be right THERE!”

So true! There is a new car commercial that plays the “So long, Farewell,” song from the Sound of Music. My kids are singing, I am singing it, and I am pretty sure the UPS guy that delivered a package the other day is now singing it too!

Just in case you think you are alone out there in toddler land with the Wonder Pet phenomenon – let me reassure you – you’re in the company of many. My 6th grade daughter and her friends are OBSESSED with Wonder Pets and the cuteness factor. They watch it, sing it, talk about it. Heck, her nickname, you got it…is Ming Ming. Gotta go.. the phone is winging!

I’m sooooo glad my kids are past the Nick Jr. age! Couldn’t stand that stuff! Sadly, they move from one annoying type of music/programming to another. Here’s what’s playing in my house: http://www.amazon.com/More-Crazy-Hits-Frog/dp/B000GBEW8ESelect the “We Are the Champions” sample. Being a life long Queen fan, I know that Freddie Mercury must be rolling over in his grave!Just thought you might want to have a glimpse into the future of the background music in your home…Hope all is going well with you :)

A-hem. This is the song that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends. Some people staaaarted singing it, not knowing what it was, and they’ll continue singing it forever just because this is the song that neeeeveeer endssss, yes it goes on and on my friends…Shit. I didn’t think about how I would never be able to stop typing it once I started. I was to excited to get it stuck in your heads.

When I was in the hospital with KayTar this week? I forgot my iPod headphones (I’m an IDIOT) and I had the following Blue’s Clues song in my head:I’m a truck, vroom vroom. And I’m a cone. And we are circle, circle, circles WoaOh!And it was on repeat in my head the entire time.

I’m totally sorry but…I JUST WISHED HEMORRHOIDS ON YOUI just got that damn theme song out of my head and now IT’S BACK.Do you know, I should be grateful to that show, I guess. I blogged about it once or twice and I still get Google traffic. Also, thank goodness it fell off the Favorites List thanks to our new old version Charlotte’s Web video.

Let’s have some celery! That’s the only episode they ever show, or else that butterfly one.. I like the show because it’s like opera for toddlers. But their voices annoy the heck out of me, and encourages whiney immitation talk. Wah!Lisa

i have no idea what you’re talking about, but after reading all these comments, i think i’m glad for that.*walks away, humming something harmless and non-annoying under her breath*

That is soo true. I have the theme song from Thomas and friends running around in my head right now. It has been there for a few days now so I think I need to fire up my iPod and get that sucker out of there.

Nancy January 29, 2007 at 2:54 pm

LOL at Mrs. Chicken’s comment! That song truly does get into your head and refuse to leave. In fact, now that it’s planted there, I’ve gotta go put on my iPod and hope that I can drown it out with some real tunes.

I have to say with all of the crap so many children’s shows have, I actually like the Wonder Pets. They have a pretty good message and I don’t really find the fact that we were singing it at the zoo yesterday, for instance, all that annoying. It is SO much better than a lot of stuff out there.

Karyn January 29, 2007 at 8:45 pm

That shit is worse than heroin; once it’s in there on a continual loop, it poisons my mind until i want to drop kick every cute little wonderpet style stuffed pal my children have lying around. Is it PMS week? Because I really feel pretty cranky. In case you couldn’t tell.

Lisse January 31, 2007 at 4:51 pm

On the hierarchy of annoyance factor in children’s TV this one’s pretty well up there in my book. And Dragon Tales. But it occurred to me the other day that the promotion of teamwork is why the opener sounds like it’s being performed by cheerleaders. Now if only I could still <>do<> that split jump at the end. (Kidding)

Magpie January 31, 2007 at 6:39 pm

Argh! Now it’s stuck in my head! I actually don’t mind my kid watching that show though – it’s kind of operatic in its music.

OMG I cannot STAND the Wonder Pets. My daughter likes it, but I can usually steer her away with a DVR’d episode of Backyardigans (where the music rocks!).And yes, it is a little sad that I now include Laurie Berkner, the Backyardigans, and Steve’s (from Blues Clues) appearance on Jack’s Big Music show as musical highlights of my life.
